Pulsing Brake Pedal? How To Check For Warped Rotors or A Sticking Caliper on a front wheel drive vehicle.
With a FWD car, when you jack up only one side, the wheel will move a bit, but not go around all the way, unless you pick up the entire front end. The fact Im able to spin the wheel easily means the brakes are not sticking, so the piston within the caliper is not frozen.
Prior to changing the caliper out, the wheel was very hard to move and it got to the point where the wheel would not move nearly at all - a critical situation which can severely damage your engine and transmission if driven like that for any length of time.
Check all of your brakes like this, front and rear for signs that a caliper could be sticking, rotors could be warped or slide bolts stuck - all conditions this vehicle suffered from and have now been fixed.
