Repairing Parts for Caterpillars BIGGEST Dozer! | Machining & Welding
We’ve got an urgent repair job to do so we can get our customers big Caterpillar D11 Bulldozer back to work! We have a pair of blade lift yokes off the D11 Dozer with worn out bearing surfaces that need repairing. We show the step by step process of the repair starting with machining down the worn surface using the lathe. With this being such an urgent job, we use Stoody 965-g hardfacing welding wire to build up the surface which will give a hardness of 55HRC. Once the weld has cooled down we machine the yokes back to spec in the lathe.
In this video we are using:
- Hafco TM-26120G Lathe
- Weldmac WHP-2.5 Power tilt positioner
- WIA 500i Weldmatic welder
