Restoration of a broken Longines Evidenza Swiss Automatic Watch - ETA 2895-2 Service
This time I´m restoring a Longines Evidenza Automatic Watch.
It´s powered by the Longines L615, a modified ETA 2895-2 automatic movement. It beats at 28800bph, the lift angle of the balance is at 51° and it has a power reserve of 42 hours.
This model has a stunning "flinque-decor" on the dial, together with the blued steel hands this is definitly a watch to wear on those elegant dinners.
The previous owner of the watch dropped it to the floor - the glass is broken and the case has some bumps.
After polishing the case, the new glass can be glued in with UV-Adhesive.
Some of the bumps on the case will retain visible but there is nothing I can do about that.
Unfortunately those small glass fragments did find their way into the movement and stopped it from working.
Those glass fragments are everywhere...
I need to disassemble the whole movement, clean all the parts and re-assemble it with some fresh oil.
After reassembling everything, this watch is in a fantastic beat (+1 second per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)
