I've been on the market now for a Dashcam for a fair bit of time. I've seen friends with them, watched countless videos of people uploading their horrors, and even sometimes, I've wished I had one just to show people some of the crazy stuff I come across whilst driving on the roads of Northern Ireland.
Anyway, I finally took the plunge with a Campark DC40. I was going to put it into my van, but alas, the van is in the workshop getting major surgery and it might be sometime before I get to see it again, and the wife insists I install it in the family car.
The camera doesn't have GPS, and to be honest, I don't think that matters? Does it? That's the only thing I've noticed that it doesn't do.
It does, however, have a rear-facing camera on a 6.5m cable which is powered by the main camera housing. I've not installed that, I'm only going to use the front-facing camera for now, and the interior camera monitor.
My initial thoughts are that the camera and audio quality are great. I've not had an opportunity to test it at night yet, because the wife has taken the car out for the evening. But anyway, as you can see in the review, it's a really neat camera, simple instructions in clear English, and no fancy wiring to worry about.
