HOW TO TELL IF CAR BURNS ENGINE OIL FROM VALVE STEM SEALS OR PISTON RINGS
In this video we will explain how to find out if a car burn oil from piston rings or from valve stem seals. The two most common causes for excessive oil consumption are worn piston rings or bad worn valve stem seals. The valve stem seals will let oil drip in the cylinder and your car will burn engine oil, while the piston rings will not collect all the oil from the cylinder wall and that will lead to excessive oil consumption and burning oil. We will explain how we usually find out whether your car is burning oil because of bad piston rings or from bad valve stem seals. It is a simple method that should guide you in the right direction to figure out if you need new piston rings or valve stem seals.
