FULL Pedal Car Electrolysis Restoration - AMF Super Sport 1965-66 Children's Pedal Car
The AMF Super Sport 1965-66 Pedal Car was a very popular toy pedal car for youngsters back in the 60's. This particular pedal car was made in 65'-66'. My father (Tim Nelson) received as a gift for Christmas when he was 4 years old. He played with it for about 5 years before out-growing it. Eventually it was placed in various storage spots, mostly outside for nearly 50 years collecting wear and a lot of rust. In 2020, my father decided to restore his old pedal car and get it back to looking brand new.
This video contains the steps he took to get the car looking new again. My father used Electrolysis to get rid of the rust without damaging the original metal. He then bought over $300 dollars in new parts to replace old wore out or missing parts. There was four main steps in restoring this old pedal car:
1. Inspection and tear down
2. ElectrolySIS
3. Prime and paint
4.Assembly

I produced and edited this video in honor of my dad. My goal is to continue to capture projects to not only honor his work but to also show others how to do things on projects of their own.
