Skoda ChS2-685: museum locomotive of the closed Moscow depot. History and future.
Locomotive Skoda ChS2-685 - a former monument in the depot "Moscow Passenger Kurskaya".
The locomotive was built in 1968 and operated at the Samara depot, but in 2008 its service life ended. The locomotive was transported to one of the Moscow depots for installation as a monument.
In this video, I interviewed the employees of the Moscow Passenger Kurskaya depot, who bit by bit restored the historical appearance of the locomotive and transported it from Samara to Moscow.
I will show you the cab and the engine room of the locomotive, I will tell you a little about how the locomotive works. In addition, you will see how, after 13 years of inactivity, the railway workers removed the locomotive from the pedestal and examined it in the workshop.
As of August 2022, the Moscow Passenger Kurskaya depot is closed, the rails have been dismantled. Locomotive ChS2-685 is located at the Podmoskovnaya station in the museum steam locomotive depot.
