I recently started getting the 'Death Wobble' in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's getting older with 160000 miles. When i got underneath the jeep and had someone turn the steering wheel back and fourth, i could see that the track bar had some play at the top where it connects to the vehicle.
When it is able to slide around, (or better said, 'when any of the steering components can slide around') it can cause the car to shake back and fourth whenever you hit little bumps in the road, or shake the steering wheel back and fourth. Here is an awesome picture i found to help you know what each of the steering components are under the Jeep.
This is one of the possible fixes for 'Death Wobbles'.
