The Jacobs 6A-33 Medium Duty Chuck was a very popular choice for makers of drill presses. Makers like Rockwell, Craftsman, Delta, Milwaukee and others installed this on their benchtop drill presses. And the 6A-33 has a large capacity range from nearly...
zero to 1/2" this chuck could handle a wide range of drill shanks. Our research into new spare parts has come up with a big zero, but with some care and effort a stuck, sticky or bit-dropping chuck can almost always be rebuilt. Some hurdles exist, but with a modest set of tools, cleaning & grease you can rebuild this chuck and enjoy they way it was intended by the original maker.

Playbook
1) Service the Chuck, take it apart, clean..., lube and reassemble.
2) Buy some NOS parts on eBay if you can find them plus #1
3) Find another 6A-33 on eBay if yours is broken, plus #1 and maybe #2
4) Replace with a similar but not Original chuck Made in USA
5) Replace with a new chuck - not a Jacobs it is mfr by DNLK

Cost and Country
1) $5 to $49 100% made in USA plus you get your Original Chuck working again...
2) $35 to $80 100% made in USA plus you get your Original Chuck working again...
3) $35 to 150 100% made in USA plus you get your Original Chuck working again...
4) $100 to $500 0% made in USA and usually some plastic is involved
5) $55 100% made in USA - NOT ORIGINAL, have not tested
