Hyundai Creta For Suspension Work | Creta Suspension Repair | Genuine Spares | MotoFyx #shorts
We had this 2015 Hyundai Creta visit one of our MotoFyx car repair workshop for an annual service along with a concern relating to that of heavy clunking noise being observed from the front end of the car while driving. In order to avoid any possibilities of a potential breakdown and as the car was also due for its annual service, the car owner reached out to us for assistance.
Upon a detailed inspection of the car by our expert technicians, an initial road trial also did initiate that the car was pulling onto the right side while driving along with steering wheel vibration and clunking noise being observed in the car. Upon further inspection, it was observed that the lower control arm bushes were severely cut and as a result of driving the car with weak bushings, the entire control arm frame had started to deform and become weak.
*Function of the lower control arm:
- The control arm connects the steering knuckle to the frame and stabilizes the car by allowing the chassis and the wheels to move in unison while the car is in motion
*Symptoms of a weak lower arm:
- Car pulling to one side
- Uneven tyre wear
- Vibrations while driving
- Clunking sound
- Noise & jerking while braking
*Can just the lower arm bushes be replaced?
- Yes, in most cases just the bushings can be replaced, it is best to however replace all the control arms bushings in one go, as when one bush wears, it’s likely that the other bushes would soon wear as well
*Why is the entire lower arm assembly replaced and not just it’s bushings?
- When bushings of the lower control arm wear out excessively and when car is driven in such a state for prolonged duration, there is significant stress incurred by the entire assembly frame, which causes the entire frame to deform / weaken overtime
*Solution:
- The weak lower control arm assembly was replaced with new Hyundai Genuine parts
- Annual service along with Wheel alignment was performed
