Restoring this Thrift Shop Find - The Aussie Singer 328P Sewing Machine - Part 1

One of the most interesting things about this sewing machine is its versatile table. It can accommodate most machines with a 16-5/8" bed because the machine head fits into a standard Singer base and that, in turn, is attached the table itself, as you'll see.

I picked this machine up from a local thrift store (op shop) here locally. It piqued my interest in a couple of ways, firstly, the table and secondly it's an Australian made machine. The 328P was manufactured in Singer's Penrith plant in Australia.
