Being involved in a collision, even a minor one can be an overwhelming experience. Knowing what to do next can make the ordeal easier and less stressful.
The first thing that you should do after a minor collision is turn on your hazard lights to warn other road users and pull over.
The information that you will need to exchange with the other driver are your license plates, driver license numbers, and personal information.
You will also need to provide the policy holder, policy number, and vehicle description.
If you have minor injuries or if your car is not drivable after the collision, call Manitoba Public Insurance immediately. MPI will open a claim and make arrangements for a tow truck.
If you have hit a parked vehicle, leave a note with your contact information. The penalties for leaving the scene of an accident are severe.
If you are involved in a minor collision, remember to stay calm and exchange the necessary information. This will help in the processing of your claim and complete any repairs to your vehicle.
