This Job DIDN’T Go As Planned! | CAT 777 Suspension Strut Repair
There’s more to this repair than we first thought and it didn’t go as planned. This is a front suspension strut off a Caterpillar 777 Mining Haul Truck, the wear band seal groove has worn out and started to “ramp” so we need to reclaim it. We show the process of getting this big suspension strut setup in our lathe for machining but unfortunately once we get a dial indicator on it we realise the repair is more than what we and our customer first thought! We wanted to show that not all jobs go to plan or work out and this is one of them.
