Mercedes 3.0 CRD diesel fuel rail removal and installation technique
So in this video I’m going to show you the technique of removing the passenger side left fuel rail on a CRD 3.0 Mercedes sprinter diesel OM642 , this is not a nut and bolt video on the fuel rail removal technique but even when you take all of the nuts and bolts out of these fuel rails it seems like it’s a little bit difficult to get the fuel rail out so I show you my fuel rail removal technique and the way to do it. If I was replacing the fuel rail on the driver side of the vehicle I would remove the passenger side one first. The reason is because you can remove the fuel rail very simply where as in the driver side requires removing some brackets etc. etc.before using the fuel rail removal technique. With the turbo in place and the intakes on the driver side would be more difficult to remove than the passenger side one would be and once the passenger side one is removed it will be much simpler to get the driver side out. This should take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes to remove the passenger side.
