Learn how to check the tread and pressure of your car’s tires with our highly trained technicians. It’s really easy. All you need is a penny and a tire gauge.
Step 1: Insert the penny with Lincoln’s head facing down into the tread. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, you should think about purchasing new tires. Make sure to check tread depths along several points of the tire.
Step 2: Check your tire pressure once a month. 90% of all tire failure is due to underinflation. Remember that proper tire inflation levels can be found in your car’s manual. Do not adjust tires by what is listed on the sidewall of the tire. Check your tire pressure on cold tires—driven less than 1 mile or after sitting for an extended period of time.
If you’re unsure of tire’s overall tread health, stop by one of the 2,000 Jiffy Lube locations nationwide and one of our highly trained service technicians can help you Leave Worry Behind.
