So, you want to work on classic Ferraris’ for a living?
Here’s how you’re going to do it.
1. 1 - Pick out a specific area to work on that applies to Ferraris, if you have pre-existing skills such as bending alumni. Use that.
1. 2 - Develop your skills and document what you work on. If reupholster some classic leather seats. Document that, we’ll use it later.
1. 3 - Network. You have to attend local FCA and other car events. Just because you don’t own a Ferrari doesnt mean you can’t attend the clubs events. Learn about the shops that does their work.
1. 4- Reach out to shops. These shops are constantly hiring. If you call them and ask, “are you looking to bring on a classic car mechanic, they’ll say yes”Some shops require ASE certifications, but you don’t know until you ask.
1. 5- Build your portfolio all the work you’ve done With pictures and share it with these shops you’ve called.
Once you’re into a shop that works on classic Ferraris, its up to you to be proactive and ask for opportunities to work on the cars.
