This is really very simple and there is no problem with the controller losing your settings and having to reprogram the whole system.
Just press the release button on the bottom of the thermostat, then gently lift off the wall bracket. That is the hard part done!
Now you can remove the batteries from the thermostat and replace them with new fresh batteries. I personally like to use Duracell Professional range, but I didn't have any at the time of filming so I used some cheap Kodak batteries from Tesco!
When the last battery is installed the thermostat will go through its startup routine and automatically reconnect to the rest of the Hive Active System and you are back up and running!
