that can be time consuming (leaving the vehicle owner without a car) and costly.
Maintaining car appearance is important to maintain vehicle value and
standards within rentals, peer-to-peer car sharing and fleets where aesthetic
damage can negatively impact the business. Many scuffs and scratches happen in
parking lots, at low speed and impact; so a cost efficient, fast repair is preferred.
New SMART repairs (Small, Medium Area Repair Technology) are quick and high
quality relying on specialist techniques and materials that allow the repairer to
address only the damaged area rather than replace the whole panel.
Approximately 60% of cars on the road (24 Million) have minor damage that would
benefit from a SMART repair (You Gov, 2017).
We aim to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered platform that
assesses vehicle damage based on a video uploaded by the person seeking a
repair. Our AI will assess the extent of the damage and generate an objective,
transparent quote for the work. Once assessed, our platform will link a suitable
SMART repairer from the Axioma network of specialists with the repair to enable a
quick, cost effective and high quality fix.
