How to Change an LS1/LS2/LS3/LS7 Water Pump • Cars Simplified
• Steve changes a water pump on his 2005 Pontiac GTO with an LS2 motor to show you how the water pump is changed on these LSX motors. Some of the LS motors have a thermostat that is built into the water outlet, while others are not, but this video will work for both.
According to AllData, the torque on the water pump bolts are done in two passes. The first pass is 11 ft. lbs.(15 Nm), the second pass is 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
These steps can be applied to other vehicles with LS engines, such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevy Camaro, Holden Commodore, Pontiac Firebird, and many others!
