This is a Water Ridge toilet from Costco ‘how to’ fix the slow leak at the bottom of the canister. During Covid and in times when you don’t have access to hardware stores this will be able to get you through the day and possibly even a few months.
First you want to shut off the water to the back of the tank and then flush the tank so the water is mostly drained. Identify the two tabs at the bottom of the canister usually at the front in the back and use a small flat head screwdriver to gently pry the tabs until the canister pops off. Turn the canister upside down you’ll see a gray washer that is set inside the canister plastic ring. You can gently pry the washer off of the ring and you will notice there is a build up of toilet tank Gunk/residue. Gently scrub the residue and build up off the washer on both sides and also clean the ring seat on the canister if there is debris in there as well. Also check if the is any build up on the base of the tank where the washer sits. Remove any build up (mine was easily brushed away just running my finger around it). Replace the washer into the ring seat of the canister and ensure that it is snug. Return the canister to the base of the tank while making sure the adjuster on the canister is facing forward. Gently press down on the top of the canister until you hear the two snaps which means it is in place and then align the half and full flush tabs with your toilet tank buttons.
