Air conditioning (AC) not working in my 2013 Ford expedition. I found a leak coming from the thermal expansion valve (TXV). As always, I like to DIY my own repairs. Follow along to watch me remove and replace the thermal expansion valve from start to finish on my 2013 Ford Expedition EL 5.4L.

Tools:
AC manifold gauge set (Measure the pressure in the system to make sure it is depressurized before breaking any joints) ***Saftey Alert***

PAG 46 refrigerant Oil (Ensure you have the correct type for your vehicle)

3/4 Ratchet set with extension bars

13mm deep socket (AC connection nuts)

8mm shallow socket (AC bracket screw)

Parts:
New Expansion valve (My system has a front and rear AC, so I made sure to order the replacement for front expansion valve)

AC Oring replacement kit (I replaced the Orings on any joint that had to be broken for the repair)
