Step-by-Step: Rebuild Acura TSX Front Brake Calipers
In this video I show how I rebuilt the front brake calipers on my 2005 Acura TSX. Years ago I bought some rebuilt calipers on partsgeek by Centric. They were not the exact OEM calipers for this car and I was not happy with them. I threw out my original OEM calipers, so I bought some used OEM calipers on eBay to rebuild them. I was lucky that the used caliper's bore and piston had no damage, could be reused, making the rebuild low cost.

With the rebuilt calipers I now have a firm pedal, my brakes are quiet, and I have stronger stopping power overall. I also recommend to buy new bleeder valve/screws as the old ones can be clogged and worn out at the thread.
Update 1.24.20 - I noticed a small brake fluid leak from both front bleeder valve/screws. I tighten the valves until they stopped leaking. I reused the brake bleeder valves that were on the used calipers.
Update 2.10.20 - I used the bleeder screws that were on the rebuilt calipers and had no more leaks on the passenger side. My driver side valve had a small leak. So I used teflon tape on the bleeder screw and so far it is no longer leaking.
TIP: When clamping the brake line to prevent the brake fluid leaking, clamp close to the banjo bolt, if fluid still leaks, clamp the brake line harder. I used a small long nose vise grip plier and a piece of cardboard for clamping.
TIP: When checking guide pins for smoothness, make sure they slide in and out smoothly, its ok if you feel a slight drag as long as movement is smooth. And make sure to burp the boots in case there's air or too much paste in the boot.
Tip: If you want quiet brakes, its best to use ceramic pads. Akebono ceramic pads is what Acura uses.
Tip: The OEM service manual recommends to lubricate the caliper piston boot with red rubber grease, but you can use silicone paste on the piston dust boot.
I recommend buying the OEM caliper seals if you are going to rebuild your calipers.
