Toyota Prius, Complete Hybrid Battery Rebuild, Replacing 28 Cells

***Update: People have been wondering where I got my cells. I got them from Electron Automotive. Let them know I sent you and they'll give me a referral fee. (714) 609-5064.

No more red triangle of death. No more "Problem." All the other annoying indicators are gone, too.

WARNING!! If you try this, proceed at your own risk! Don't die! I am no expert. Don't be dumb and wear flip flops like me. Wearing special gloves would have made things safer, too. I had my cells pre-balanced by my re-seller-- I understand that that's important to make things work properly. Oh, I should have inspected each cell to make sure it had no damage or leaks before installing! God bless!

Last Saturday, I saved myself a couple thousand dollars by rebuilding my hybrid battery pack in my 2005 Toyota Prius (2nd Generation). I am no car guru, so if I can do this, you probably can, too. I swapped out all 28 cells or modules. My car is now running great. Haven't seen the battery leave the blue since.

Here's hoping it will give me a few years before I need to do this again!

Comment any questions or tips. I'm sure I could have done this more efficiently and safely than I did...
