Today we're going to be taking a look at as well as doing a quick installation of the Rack'em motorcycle helmet rack for enclosed trailers, part number RA-22. Let's go ahead and go over the different portions our different sections of the rack. This top section as well as this part right here is what holds the helmet in place. The helmet sits over and this here is a chin strap loop which helps keep the helmet on the rack. We have a hook down here. We can put a coat or a jacket or even a jersey hang from the bottom. As well as this little area here can be used to put your riding gloves if you want. Let's go ahead and show you how the helmet goes into place.
This is designed for a closed or an open faced helmet. Today we're going to be using a motocross style helmet. Go ahead and slide that down. Your chin strap will then go around the spring loaded chin strap hook. Go back up and hook the chin strap as though you we're securing the helmet to your head.
That helps keep the helmet in place as you're going down down the road. It has a hook here built in on top. There is a hole right here that we can add a screw to secure it to the wall of the enclosed trailer. Now, ordinarily we would be able to hook this over the top of our trailer, but this particular trailer, the way it's built, it doesn't allow you to do that. We've gone ahead and added a 2 by 6 board with an angle cut on the back side, just using a simple table saw that matches the contour of the hook portion of the rack. We've also added small block of 2 by 4 to give us a little bit of support when we put our rack onto the wall.
We'll go ahead and set our rack in place. As you can see, it's got nice support there. We'll just need to add a wood screw right there to help secure it to the wall. The wood screw is something you will need to provide. It does not come with the helmet rack. With that, that will do it for our quick look as well as installation of the Rack'em motorcycle helmet rack for enclosed trailers, part number RA-22. .
