Spray Welding a Pedestal Grinder Motor Shaft

This video covers the repairs made to a pedestal grinder rotor shaft I made using my spray welder. Both of the bearing journals were worn about .005" undersize. This is a good technique for repairing worn bearing and seal journals. Man people ask if the heat warps the shaft. In fact it does not. You do not put the amount of heat into the shaft as you would with arc welding. With the proper shaft prep and build up techniques utilized, this is a good cost effective method of repairing shaft fits.
