CDL Basic Backing Skills; Alley Dock, Offset, Straight Line Backing
After completing the CDL Pre-Trip Inspection, the next portion of the Skills Test will be Basic Control. The Basic Control Skills Test includes 100ft Straight Line Backing, Offset Backing (Right or Left), and Alley Dock.
The video demonstrates successful completion of all three maneuvers along with the proper way of exiting your vehicle for Outside Vehicle Observations (Looks). It also demonstrates common errors and how to recover from them.
The video is an excellent tool for preparing for many of the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Behind-the-Wheel Range exercises.
