NC MX-5 Miata LED Indicator Hyperflash Fix In Just 7 Minutes EASY | LED Turn Signals | Tach On Red
When you put LED indicators in your car, you'll typically encounter a problem known as hyperflash. This is when your indicator relay detects a blown flasher bulb and it flashes much faster than normal.
This occurs because LEDs are more efficient than normal incandescent bulbs. Hence, they have a much lower resistance. The flasher relay detects the lower resistance in the circuit and thinks that an indicator bulb is blown.
The typical fix for this is to splice in some resistors in parallel with your indicator circuit on both sides. But what if you don't want to cut into your factory wiring. What if you want a tidier and more "factory" fitting solution?
Here's an easy and FREE mod I did on my indicator relay to disable the hyperflash function. I can now run LED indicator bulbs and still have a normal flash rate.
