Another $1,000,000 Over Budget (Dream House Update)
In this video, Chandler David Smith goes through a full walkthrough of his dream home, and shares all the changes, updates, and progress that has been made in the last few months. The original plan was to be finished by December 2021, but as we are ending January 2022 there are still several major aspects that need to be completed. Not only have the labor and material shortages caused major delays in the construction industry as a whole, it has made this project cost over $1,000,000 above the original budget. In todays video, that is all broken down.
In the last video filmed here, Chandler shared the progress with James (The Stradman) who is also building his dream home, with a massive 12 car garage, indoor theater, and more. The Stradman's favorite elements of this dream house was the huge indoor basketball court, indoor pool, 3 step in-home movie theater with surround sound, and the gorgeous view of the property from the upstairs bedrooms. The home will be one of the biggest homes in Idaho, at a whopping 18,000 square feet, between the basketball court, pool, garages, in home gym, offices, music rooms, walk in pantry, and spacious basement. Chandler also discusses the cost of all the changes he has made during the building process, and how he has had to adapt his plans to fit with what is readily available in the current market. He also discusses the challenges they have been facing with things such as leaks, flooding, and freezing.
