Keurig Elite K90 Disassembly and Theory of Operation

Keurig coffee makers are wonderful machines, but when they need repair they can be challenging to take apart. Removing the screws is only half the battle, since there are snap fasteners inside that are not accessible from the outside.

I thought I would create a video that would not only show people where the screws and fasteners are, but also how to unfasten them without damaging the machine. The video also covers the suggested order of disassembly to keep it as easy as possible. The machine that we are disassembling today is the Keurig K90 K-Elite brewer.

Please refer to for the Theory of Operation rather than the one included in this video here, since I updated it in that other video, to expand a few things and to correct others. The Theory of Operation section describes how the various pumps and other devices inside the machine operate and what they are for. This will help in diagnosing what part is causing the problem. This theory of operation will also apply to some other recent Keurig brewer models as well, besides this one. We also touch briefly on how the recent machines operate a little differently from the older machines.
