Making the NEW Cylinder Barrel! | Hitachi ZX470 Cylinder Rebuild | Part 2
We've got the damaged hydraulic cylinder disassembled now it's time to make the new barrel! This video is Part 2 of rebuilding a stick (dipper arm) cylinder off a Hitachi ZX470 excavator. In this video we show the complete process of making a new cylinder barrel including machining apart the old barrel before machining and welding together the new barrel. We also show fitting on the head flange using an interference fit, pressing out the old bushings with our 150T hydraulic press and honing out the heat affected zone in the new barrel! Stay tuned for the next video of this cylinder rebuild where we make the new piston and reassemble the cylinder!
