Building and restoring horse drawn vehicles often involves aligning axles so the wheels and carriages run properly. What is commonly know as Caster, Camber and Toe today was referred to as Gather and Swing in the carriage industry. Gather is equivalent to Toe, and Swing is equivalent to Camber, while Caster was not a concern in carriage axles.
Follow the procedure, and understand the axle gauge, as it pertains to carriages, buggies, coaches and wagons.
