HF FULL BAND Mod. v2.1 w/ PREAMP - INSTALL - Quansheng UV-K5 (Si4732 chip)
Dual antenna and single antenna install for HF FULL BAND mod ver 2.1. No cutting your board, we look at X-RAYs and prove definitely that cutting your board is a horrible idea, you can short. For single antenna we test if choke should be used or not. For dual antenna we test where is best to connect antenna, before amplifier or after amplifier. For dual antenna we use IPEX connector and show you how to do it without IPEX connector. Plus optionally we relocate flashlight LED under keyboard so that we have indicator for when firmware is flushing or when flashlight is active. Plus BONUS mod, we make HF FULL BAND mod ver 2.1 with preamp even louder - results are amazing, your neighbor is going to hear your radio!! Yes video is long, because we don't hide anything, we show you the entire process, you should use timestampы in table of contents to navigate to part that is most interesting to you. However, I hid some extra mods in video, so only those that watch the entire video until the end will get the most out of this material! :)
Could this video been made smaller? Yes, but then you wouldn't see the complete picture.
** To do single antenna it will take about 30 minutes, or one hour if you are a newbie..
** To do dual antenna (discrete/separate antenna for HF FULL BAND board) it will take you 2 hours if you have a rotary tool like dremel, if you have no special tools, just scalpel, then it will take you about 4 hours.
** I highly encourage you to do dual antenna setup for the best sensitivity! It's not much harder than single antenna setup, but takes time if you are like me, without special tools. (alas without a dremel or other rotary tool)
