Crazy New Use For Flex Seal Spray - I'm not saying anyone should do this.
I tried Flex Seal Spray to fix a gas tank on my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria. See me use a spray can to apply it. My question was, will gasoline traces interfere with adhesion. So Here's a video of me doing this to fix a leaking fuel tank. It was leaking 1/8 to 1/4 tank of gas overnight, a pretty serious leak. The fuel pump and lines don't seem to leak. There is also a check engine light, first flashing - then solid. That may tie in with this leak.
Flex Seal in the spray can helps with other automotive repairs. I also show how I used Flex Seal to seal rusty surfaces for protection and binding. Flex Seal spray and tape stick amazingly well. Even on dirty, damp, or rusty surfaces. Only flaking substrate defeats their adhesion.
Be careful not to let Flex Seal spray get on hot things like he exhaust system. Nor let it get inside the gas tank or fuel lines. So why ok for the fuel system? The lines aren't under high pressure and rubber hoses are ok and Flex Seal is rubber. Still, might it react to the gas and not stick? SO far so good.
Over 7 days after this auto repair hack and so far it woks. I'm not suggesting anyone fix a gas tank themself. Just like I wouldn't suggest using Flex Seal tape to patch a rusted open muffler, but I did that and it worked also. This video is more about Flex Seal than an auto repair technique. I can just scrap this car if the gas tank fix fails.
